Collide in Blood Shot Eyes

From Chud.com-

Just in time for Christmas, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is coming to DVD on November 23. I’m sure that Best Buy or Circuit City will run some insane $7 DVD sale on Black Friday, so prepare to beat your way through the crowds of insane adults and crazy, clutching children. I prefer to bring a Nerf baseball bat when I shop on Black Friday, although I pretend it’s a machete. The shopping experience is more fun that way. My favorite purchase was the $11.99 Madden 2004 game last year. This little snot thought he had the last copy, but I knocked the copy up in the air, hit him in the gut while he looked for it in the air, then snatched it from him while he doubled over in pain. I hit him in the knees too, just to hear that cool “pop” sound since I have the Nerf bat that makes a baseball bat noise.

I liked the story, thought I'd share it. That DVD article also fooled me into believing there was a Heathcliff release on the way. Man, what a tease. The Live Aid concert from 1985 is coming out November 1, and I'm sure it's gonna cost as much as a bazooka. (Hm, strange comparison) Anyway, it will have 10 hours of concert footage spread out over 4 discs and my dilemna is this: should I shell out the money just for U2's twenty minutes on stage.
Reasons to buy - Sunday Bloody Sunday, Bad (which goes on for over 12 minutes and is my favorite performance of the song) both sung by a fiercely mulleted Bono.
Reasons to not buy - The remaining 9 1/2 hours of performances from such top-notch bands as Dragon, Men at Work, Gowana, Bryan Ferry (not a band), Power Station, Thompson Twins, Hall & Oates, Ashford & Simpson, etc. You get the idea.
Reason to definitely buy - Kenny Loggins and his song "Footloose"

Anyway, it is what it is. I'm undecided.

I've edited my previous post in the name of increased accuracy.

On further investigation, it would seem that Heathcliff has not one but three DVDs available for purchase. I know what I'm stopping to pick up on my way home.

Cry Havoc and Let Slip the Dogs of War

Some things that have been bouncing around in my head over the past several days...

There's a restaurant in the tunnels called "Pizza Plus Chicken." It was actually the first place I ate when I started working at this job and decided to explore the underground tunnel system. Anyhow, the name of the place is the reason I bring it up. I can't understand why they didn't just go all out and call it "Pizza Plus Chicken Equals Yum" or something goofy like that. I mean, why not?

Having watched The Great Muppet Caper last week, I can say with the utmost confidence that there is nothing else in this world as pure and excellent as Gonzo's love for chickens.

Most of you know this but 2004 has certainly seen its fair share of weddings. I will now bore you with the list of weddings I have either participated in or attended.

2. Roberts/Vanderpool - 01.10.04 - Tyler, TX - (usher)
3. Wade/Campbell - 05.22.04 - Tyler, TX - (groomsman)
4. Allen/Newlin - 06.05.04 - Longview, TX - (Best Man)
5. Butler/Grigg - 07.17.04 - Brenham, TX - (groomsman)
6. Epp/Velasko - 07.24.04 - Odessa, TX - (attendee)
7. O'Bryant/Slack - 08.14.04 - Huntsville, TX (attendee)

The last one is only tentative at this point but still... jealous?

Amy and I are involved this week in caring for a house and a Taco dog. Well, it's a Chihuahua named Taco, but calling him a Taco dog seems funnier to me. Being at this particular house puts us in the vicinity of a theater previously out of reach- a theater at which we have yet to take in a Prisoner of Azkaban viewing. This situation will be handled forthwith, expect a post in the coming days announcing viewing #5.
