Never has the word "letter" carried so much weight. It's all in the delivery, and no other human on the planet could have spoken it with as much power. Where are the Sandra Bernhardts, the Louis Gossett Juniors, or the Howie Mandells?
And to think they almost had me attempting to stave off poverty in a third-world country by accurately pinpointing my particular demographic.
For shame.
Also, I find Tom Hanks' postlude "about not asking for our money" very necessary. I'm sure if each of those celebrities gave about 14% of what they are worth, that in itself would fix the poverty problem in Africa with enough left over to start on Canada.
